My Story

My career started in accounting, spending five years as an auditor before moving into the private sector. For over a decade and a half, I honed my skills in the high-stakes world of domestic and international publicly traded companies.

I was the original "fixer", the one who'd walk into a company and help it become a well-oiled machine. I’d implement foundational procedures, restructure organizations and systems, and ensure reporting was efficient and effective. I worked with everyone, from the front lines to the board room, and I saw something most accountants didn't: a company isn't just a collection of departments. It’s one integrated organism, and every part has to work together to achieve its mission. I realized I was an accountant by trade, but my true passion was always working with people.

During the pandemic, I stepped away from the corporate world to focus on my two young children. When life stabilized, I went back to finance consulting, but it wasn't the same for me. I kept coming back to one central idea: my passion for fostering collaboration, enhancing communication, and cultivating leadership was where I thrived.

It was time for a change. After some deep soul-searching, I made a major pivot and dove into the world of coaching. I completed over 320 hours of rigorous training with iPEC, earning four distinct certifications, and my Associate Certified Coaching certification from the International Federation of Coaching. I knew that my years of corporate experience—working with diverse teams and restructuring companies from the inside out—would be the perfect foundation for my coaching practice. Now, as a certified coach, I help executives, leaders, and individuals navigate transitions and create lasting personal change. My journey has taken me from the balance sheet to the human side of business, and I'm more fulfilled than ever.

As a wife and mom of two children living in Northern Virginia (with roots deep in Southern Maryland), I love the dynamic energy of this area. My ultimate goal is finding balance: cozy family nights mixed with new experiences. When I’m not wearing my mom hat, I’m probably taking in live music, getting lost in a good true crime binge, or enjoying a little gaming. I firmly believe a deep belly laugh is always required! I’m currently on a mission to improve my tennis game and re-ignite my passion for golf. Life is an adventure, and I’m ready for whatever comes next.

"I am new to the world of executive coaches and frankly I'm disappointed I didn't do it sooner in my career. However, that may be more due to the excellent work Kate does. I look forward to every time we meet as she always has great guidance on how to navigate situations, quick to bring up real life analogies and relevant case studies, and most importantly has an empathetic yet challenging ear (she does not let me slide or avoid being challenged and that is appreciated). I have recommended her in many conversations with peers already as I know how she has helped me and will continue to help me be a better leader, employee and person.
In this case "catching FLACH" is a great thing (can't help myself)"
